Walter Forsberg

Walter's twenty-year career working with audiovisual collections as a filmmaker and conservator spans Canada, Mexico, and the US. He is a 2021-2024 Fulbright Specialist in Library Science, the editor of several books on microcinema culture and film exhibition, and has served as faculty for UCLA's California Rare Book School and in NYU's Moving Image Archiving and Preservation graduate program.

After leading the establishment of the National Museum of African American History and Culture's media conservation and digitization department from 2014-2018, he is excited to work with such a talented Dream Team as the AVMPI Staff and its partner museums and research centers!
