Thematically Aggregating EDAN Records

The Smithsonian's Enterprise Digital Asset Network, or 'EDAN,' is the labyrinthine systems network that interconnects digital records and digitized collections across the Institution. When researchers and the public use Collections Search Center to discover our world class collections, EDAN transforms individual museum unit and research center database information and DAMS assets into online 'hits' for users.

The 'Spotlight' tool enables Smithsonian curators and collections managers to aggregate content across EDAN records to create thematic online exhibitions. Enjoy some of the audiovisual-themed collection groupings below, or get in touch with AVMPI staff to suggest a new one.
