- As the basis for the bestselling poster of all time, the 1976 picture of actress Farrah Fawcett wearing a Norma Kamali red one-piece bathing suit became one of the most iconic images of the 1970s. Photographed by Bruce McBroom, the 29- year-old Texan, with her feathered blonde hair and charismatic smile, found her way onto the walls of more than 12 million homes. Influencing the style of the decade, the “Farrah Phenomenon” propelled the actress into global superstardom. Her position as the trendsetting “poster child” of the 1970’s was cemented later that year with her portrayal of “Jill Munroe” on the hit TV series Charlies Angels.
